Marketing a deposit as “diatomite” does not make it a filter aid. Filter-grade diatomite means drying, classification, sometimes calcination, then permeability and particle-retention tests against the liquid you actually run.
What plants test
- Permeability / flow through the filter aid cake.
- Clarity / retention of the particles that must stay out of the filtrate.
- Moisture and packing that survive handling into the plant.
Oils, beverages and industrial liquids do not share one grade. Name the process.
Trial before programme
US filtration desks usually start with a trial parcel. That is normal. Recurring supply follows once clarity and flow clear. Industry frame: industrial filtration.
Bentonite appears in some filtration briefs. It is not a silent substitute for diatomite. Use the bentonite page only when filtration performance is the named clay brief.
Continuity
Algeria-first processed grades with partner origins so a food or industrial filter line is not locked to one deposit or calcination unit when geopolitics or maintenance hits.
Inquiry fields
- Liquid process and current filter-aid grade family.
- Performance targets or test methods.
- Trial vs programme volume.
- Destination and packing.
Send the inquiry. We will say whether a filter-grade path looks realistic — including when natural ore alone is not enough.
