GBFS & Blast Furnace Slag from Algeria
Blast-furnace slag is the cementitious line we place next to clinker. Tell us whether you need ground granulated blast-furnace slag or another laitier form — they are not the same shipment.
What is GBFS?
Blast-furnace slag (laitier de haut fourneau) comes out of ironmaking. Ground granulated blast-furnace slag, GBFS or laitier granulé, is the form most cement mills use to replace part of the clinker. Coarser or unground slag is a different product. We review the form your mill or blend actually needs, on one page, rather than splitting the family into lookalike catalogues.
How we source GBFS
Send the form (ground, granulated, or another slag specification), any cement standard or blend target, the volume and the destination. We say whether Algerian supply can meet it.
Typical applications
- Cement blending and grinding
- Lower-clinker binders and concrete
- Mills substituting part of a clinker intake
Technical specifications
Fineness, glass content, chemistry and activity are confirmed on the qualified lot. A GBFS brief and a coarser laitier brief are specified separately.
Logistics & packing
Cementitious volumes are usually planned as bulk maritime cargo. Loading port, stowage and moisture limits are agreed per shipment.
Typically bulk. Bags or big bags only when the volume and the plant can support them.
Documents & inspection
Quality certificates and export papers follow the destination and the cement standard named in the contract.
Independent sampling and testing can be coordinated when the buyer or the standard requires it.
Commercial terms & export
The offer covers one specified form, one volume and one destination. We do not quote “slag” as a generic grade.
Form and spec → supply match → terms → inspection, documents and loading.
