Industrial Commodity
Dolomite from Algeria
Raw dolomite is an industrial bulk line next to clinker and cement. We structure it against size, chemistry and the cargo you can actually take — not as a single quarry grade.
What is Dolomite?
Dolomite (dolomie) is a calcium-magnesium carbonate used in steel, glass, agriculture and construction. This page is the raw stone. If you need the calcined product, that is dolomie calcinée, on its own page — the two are not interchangeable.
How we source Dolomite
Share the size fraction, any CaO/MgO window you enforce, the volume and the destination. We check fit before commercial terms.
Typical applications
- Steel flux and refractory feedstock
- Glass batch
- Agriculture and soil conditioners
- Construction aggregates and fillers, where the grade allows
Technical specifications
Size, CaO, MgO, silica and loss on ignition are reviewed for the requested fraction. Data is shared for the qualified lot only.
Logistics & packing
Raw dolomite moves as bulk. Working cargoes fall between 5,000 and 30,000 tonnes, depending on the fraction and the vessel. Port, stowage and the exact parcel are confirmed per shipment.
Bulk is the default. Big bags are exceptional and only discussed when the volume justifies them.
Documents & inspection
Weight, quality and export documents follow the Incoterm and the receiver’s rules.
Draft survey and independent sampling can be written into the contract.
Commercial terms & export
Price follows fraction, volume, destination and laycan. Nothing is firm until acceptance.
Fraction and chemistry → supply check → cargo terms → loading.
Frequently asked questions

Longer notes on dolomite for buyers who want the context before they send a brief.
What dolomite is used for in steel, glass and agriculture
Dolomite uses in steel, glass and agriculture, and why raw dolomite for steel is a different purchase from calcined dolomite. Fraction and CaO/MgO are confirmed on the lot.
Calcined dolomite or raw dolomite: dolomie calcinée is not the stone
Why calcined dolomite, or dolime, is the stone after CO2 is driven off, and why dead burned dolomite is a lot check rather than a catalogue grade.
